Roots - saturday, daytrip Regurarly accompanied by swimming dolphins, this impressive daytrip begins with a relaxing trip across the river Gambia to the old French tradingpost Albreda (Albradarr). A walk brings you to the village Juffureh, known as the place of birth of Kunta Kinteh, the maincharacter in Alex Haley's famous book ‘Roots’.
Enjoy the lunchbuffet on board (really very good!) and than you go on to James Island with the boat, once the centre of the slave trade, with the remainder of the fort where the slaves stayed before they were transported. In the 16th til the 19th century this was the destiny of approximately 12 million people!

Jeepsafari - friday and sunday, daytrip Adventurous voyage of discovery with a 4-wheel drive along the coast in southern direction to the frontier with Senegal. Driving on partly unpaved roads, the so called bushtracks, you will see a very original part of The Gambia. Enjoy the original landscape, the local population, various types of birds and monkeys in the wild. Visit a village school and enjoy the sea on the unblemished beach of Sanyang.

City tour - wednesday, half a daytrip Visit Banjul, the capital of Gambia. Mingle with the crowd on Albert Market and also see the city from Arch 22. Then the trip continues to Serekunda, Gambia’s biggest and densely populated city.

Lazy day cruise - tuesday, daytrip A day of doing nothing, that is complete relaxation on board of a piroque, a typical African wooden ship, remainder of the Portuguese time. On board through the mangrove swamps enjoying a champagnebuffet, swimming, fishing and sunning, eating and drinking. So a glorious day of doing nothing.

Birds & breakfast - monday and friday, half a daytrip Early in the morning, before the birds wake up, you will go on poles builded Lamin Lodge. From here you will go by canoe through the bolongs and the creeks. An experienced guide will show you the way in the rich Gambian birdlife and a pair of binoculars is indispensable this morning. The trip will end with a breakfast in Lamin Lodge where the monkeys will try to help you a hand.

Sunsetcruise - tuesday and thursday, half a daytrip From Denton Bridge you will go by boat in about 2 hours through the mangroves to Lamin Lodge. Here you can enjoy a dinnerbuffet, the sunset and traditional entertainment. By (mini)bus you'll drive back to the hotel.

Makasutu Culture Forest - monday and saturday, daytrip Admire the local craftsmanship and walk through the beautiful nature in this really beautifull setted up Gambian paradise. Creekfishing - daily except on friday, daytrip Discover the amazing (under-)waterworld of The Gambia. You leave in the morning from your hotel to Denton Bridge for a whole day of fishing by piroque, a typical African wooden ship from Portuguese origine. Fishing-rods and bait are available. Also a nice excursion for people that never fish: the bait will be put on the fish-hook and the catched fish will be taken off for you. The mangrove area on itself is worth the trip, just relax on the boat while cruising the area. On board a lunch will be served with fresh fruit.
